Update from Jamey Jasta

Ok it’s been awhile since I did a blog so here it is and hopefully I answer a bunch of questions you might have. Thanks for the support! We just got to Japan, we have 3 shows with Machine Head and then it’s off to Australia with them. If you follow me on twitter you’ll see a bunch of pics and random updates. http://www.twitter.com/jameyjasta

I’ve been doing less with my label since Hatebreed has been so busy but we’re running a sale until 3/17. You get 3 CDs for $3.17! Don’t miss out on this deal http://www.martyrstore.com

We have about 3 weeks off in April to do press and finish the video for “Everyone Bleeds Now” then it’s back to Europe for 4 shows. Check out this video:

As most of you know, my other band KINGDOM OF SORROW has had our 2nd album recorded now for awhile, we’re hoping for a June 2010 Release date on Relapse Records. Make sure you fan them on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/RelapseRecords and Follow them on Twitter here: http://twitter.com/relapserecords

I’m really excited about the Kingdom Of Sorrow album because I feel like I really went all out this time. I love the 1st album but I brought way better riffs to the table this time and really brought a different vocal style on a lot of tracks. I think this new album is much more memorable and that the songs are really catchy but still heavy and raw.

Crowbar has some European touring to do but we may squeeze some KOS shows in when I am not touring with Hatebreed this year.

On the flight to Japan I worked some more on my lyric book and touched on some of the crazy stories from my Headbangers Ball book. I know I’m taking my sweet time with these but both book will be out in 2011, that is my goal!

Tickets are now on sale for HVY MTL. This is an awesome festival that Hatebreed has played before with Iron Maiden. It was an incredible show last time and I really can’t wait to play it again this year. Check out this flyer below. The line up is massive!

We’ve been doing meet and greets every night on the past tour. This is the one of the items that comes with the meet and greet, we only sell these to the true diehards that want to meet the band. These are almost gone so if you come see us in Japan and Australia with Machinehead you could own one of these flags. We’ll be doing a new one for Mayhem Fest and the off day shows!

When I got home from the “Black Procession” tour of Europe I looked back at some of the photos and was really blown away by everything. The support for Hatebreed was absolutely phenominal. Alot of people told us that they’ve never seen a band open for Machine Head and get that type of reaction. If you were at a show and chanted our name or went crazy in the pit or raced up front to bang your head or sing the words with us, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Almost every show we’d take a break from a song and the crowd would start chanting HATEBREED or in some cases HATE-FUCKING-BREED. I would get chills down my spine, most of the time I would become speechless and all I could mutter was “thank you”. Every show was a true blessing. This is such a good time for metal and hardcore and crossover music in general. It was really inspiring to see Machine Head every night because they have persevered through so many challenges and they’ve seen so many trends come and go and have had a real resurgence on their last two album which I think are amazing records.

Here’s a pic of the 4 front men on the tour make sure you check out Man Must Die and Bleeding Through’s new album, I got a sneak peak and it sounds great!

Since we are doing Mayhem Fest all summer in America it’s made me think forward to Stillborn Fest 2010. The pic below is from Hartford, CT last year. That show was probably one of my favorite shows I’ve ever played in CT. The crowd was louder than ever and the pit was HUGE! Since Mayhem Fest will be in Hartford on July 24th I think this year we will try and bring Stillborn Fest back to Toads Place in New Haven this December!

I’ve been working with our webguy to compile fan pics of myself and the band for an all new “Fan Photo Section” on Hatebreed.com and the Myspace/Facebook etc if you have a pic you want included please send them to stillbornrecords@gmail.com

Make sure you fan Hatebreed on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/hatebreed

The last year has been crazy. I am really grateful for the continued success of Hatebreed. Our latest self titled album has taken us to Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, England, Ireland, Russia, Finland, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, and many other places and we’re extending our touring into 2011 to include a bunch of new places we haven’t been to and some countries and cities we haven’t played in many years.

Everyone always asks me about this scar on my face. It’s from a dog bite I got from a doberman pincher when I was young. It was my own fault though cause I was yelling at the dog cause it was barking at me and he got loose and pounced on me and got me good. Bite me right in the face. I remember my father racing me to the hospital to get shots and stitches. There was blood everywhere. When I was a kid this scar was way bigger but as my head and face grew it started to look smaller. I feel bad for the dog I think the owners put it down after it bit me. I didn’t want them to have to do that but they I think they did.
